UROLOGY SURGICAL SET MADE BY W.F. FORD IN WALNUT WOOD CASE CIRCA MID TO LATE 1800S
[lightslider_looper]

This is a urology surgical set or better described as a urology sound set, from the mid to late 1800s. Urology sounds are metal catheters that are insterted into the bladder and urinary tract to clear them out of infection and kidney stones and any other blockages.

This is a three tier set and the third tier is not photographed.

The set is about 60% to 70% complete (missing 30% to 40% of original instruments) but I bought it as the larger beautiful walnut case was attractive, had military latches, and I had never before seen a three level urology sound surgical case so nicely upholstered so I thought it would make a good addition to the collection.
